Photo of John C. SedlakIt is with profound sadness that I announce the death of our brother and former Council #4620 member John Sedlak. John passed away May 20, 2020. He was 90.

John is survived by his wife, Shirley; children: Ann Marie (Lee) Corrow, Kathy Sedlak, Linda (Jerry) Craven, and Cheryl Kukuch; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Sedlak; parents: Frank and Josephine Sedlak; brothers: Frank, Joe, John and Bernard; and sister, Margaret.

John took his First degree in 2003 as a Knight of Columbus of the Cardinal Stritch Council #4620 of Crown Point, IN. He served our council with pride and was well liked by all the members.

John was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church, formerly a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and in 2018, when St. Matthias Church was granted a council, he became a founding member of Knights of Columbus Council 16945.  John was a Realtor with Century 21 in the Lake County area.  John proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 20 in Crown Point.

John’s funeral services via live stream through Facebook  on Saturday, May 23, 2020.  He was laid to rest at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in honor of John to the K of C Gibault Home, 6401 S. US Hwy 41, Terre Haute, IN 47802.
